Paul
Gaytán earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of
Law in 1998, and he has been practicing law in Texas for 24 years. Prior to law school, Paul graduated with high
honors from Texas Lutheran College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
He also attended the University of London where he studied Shakespeare and
English Common Law. Paul is a 6th generation Texan, raised in a small town that valued hard work, integrity and
humility.
Paul
started his legal career working for a well-respected medical malpractice/personal
injury defense firm in McAllen, where he became a named Partner and
opened/managed the Corpus Christi office for the firm. During his ten years at the firm, Paul was
hired by insurance companies to defend their insureds in medical malpractice
and personal injury cases throughout South Texas.
In
2008, Paul founded the Gaytán Law Firm to represent clients in civil litigation, estate planning, probate, and business matters. He has successfully represented clients in complex civil litigation cases throughout Texas with proven results. Paul is also an experienced and knowledgeable estate planning, probate, and business attorney that will find practical solutions for both routine and complex matters.
In addition to practicing law, Paul
is the former Chair of South Texas College’s Paralegal Department, where
he was an Instructor and taught every legal course offered in the program, including Wills, Trusts and Probate Administration; Business Organizations, Contracts, and Texas Civil Litigation. Paul was regarded by his students
for being able to teach difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner.
Paul
is dedicated to serving his community and provides various free legal
services to low income clients. He is also civically committed to his hometown of
Seguin, where he is the City Councilman for District 5. He is also a member of the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, Seguin Guadalupe County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Rotary Club of Seguin, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and Guadalupe Chapter Texas Master Naturalist.
