Paul Gaytán

Paul Gaytán, a 6th generation Texan, graduated with high honors from Texas Lutheran University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  During his undergraduate studies, Paul also attended the University of London, where he studied Shakespeare and English Common Law.  In 1998, Paul earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of Law and became licensed to practice law in Texas State and Federal Courts.

Paul began his legal career by working for a well-respected insurance defense firm in McAllen and became a named Partner in just three years.  At that time, the firm was named Gonzalez, Gaytán, Garza & Castillo, LLP. During his ten years at the firm, Paul was hired by insurance companies in motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice and other personal injury claims.  He was also responsible for managing the Corpus Christi office for the firm.

In 2008, Paul founded the Gaytán Law Firm to represent victims of personal injury.   He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases involving auto/trucking accidents, medical malpractice, and other personal injury claims. Paul utilizes his knowledge from working on the insurance defense side to get the best results for his clients.

Paul is also the former Chair of South Texas College's Paralegal Department, where he was an Instructor and taught every legal course offered to the Paralegal students. Paul was highly regarded by his students for being able to teach difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner, and he brings this natural skill to the courtroom to win cases for his clients.

Paul is dedicated to serving his community and is a recognized member of the State Bar of Texas Pro Bono College and State Bar of Texas Care Campaign.  Paul volunteers for Texas Rural Rio Grande Legal Aid, Inc., where he serves as a pro bono attorney for the Hidalgo County Community Justice Divorce Clinic, Wills Clinic and Power of Attorney Clinic. These clinics provide free legal services to the poor and underserved.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys running, surfing, and kayaking. He is an avid runner and frequently runs marathons.
Paul A. Gaytán is a member of the honorary society of the College of the State Bar of Texas. The College recognizes and promotes attorneys who strive to maintain and enhance their professional skills and the quality of their practice by voluntarily attending at least double the minimum Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes required by the State Bar of Texas. The motto of the College is: "Professionalism Through Education."
Paul A. Gaytán is recognized by the State Bar of Texas as an attorney who has made a commitment to provide pro bono legal services to the poor each year.
